Haven't posted an image in a while. Here's one from a little while back. Hopefully the colors aren't too out of wack. (poetry?) Taken up in the tundra of RMNP.
C&C always welcome.

Why would you even pull out the camera for a scene with such dull, subdued colors?
Really nice image, Steven. Wouldn't mind if the mountain back there wasn't so black as night, but I guess it does serve to highlight the tundra detail in the foreground. And what a sky!

Love the color and that you held some detail in the midground shadows. Sweet!
I agree with Todd on the dark background mountains, but the fg and sky are very nice. Nicely composed too with the diagonals!.

Except for the cut off foreground rocks, I love the comp. You did a great job with balancing sky and land. I too find the mountains a bit dark, but the sky is so strong that my eye goes right there. Nice one, Steven.
The color in the sky is quite wonderful and I like the detail in the tundra foreground. Yea, the mountain on the left may be a bit dark, but it isn't the dominant subject of this image anyway. No biggie.
Thanks for the comments so far. Looks like almost everyone agrees (4 out of 5 choosy photographers prefer...) and I will look into bumping up the exposure on the shadow side of Sundance.
Paul, I see your point and appreciate where you are coming from with the comment. Felt that I had to cut through the foreground rocks somewhere as I was in one of those rocky regions where there were may small to medium sized rocks. And with the sky like it was there I was more focused on the top part of the view finder. But good suggestion and I will keep this in mind.
Thanks for the input Morris. I took a look at cropping from the bottom as you suggested (and in part Paul did as well). Sure it is a little busy, but the FG ridge fades away going left and a rise to Sundance peak begins. Cropping from the bottom removes the flow up and back to the right in the image. Also, it can not be seen on this thumbnail size image, but there are many little yellow flowers in the rocks. Would like to keep them.
