Hi - I've not posted for a while, mainly due to to lack of new stuff to process.

I found this while sorting through files and thought I'd process and post.

C&C always welcome.

Hi Graham,

Great POV nice and low down. But as already said the bird is a bit soft. Perhaps another round of sharpening in high pass filter could solve this.

the light and colours are great. A bit more sharpening would help I think, and perhaps the bird to be lower in the frame.

Great low viewpoint has produce a lovely effect on the water and background. I agree the bird appears a tad soft in this presentation. I'm sure that can be fixed.

Nit covered re softness, i think it would be a more powerful image if the bird wasnt 50/50 in the height of the image-either move it up or down the frame-nice image overall

A very nice image Graham, the colours, the tones and bg are just right, agree with comments on sharpening and composition.

Thanks for comments guys - much appreciated as always.

I'm always consious not to oversharpen, and indeed, it looked OK on my screen at home. Maybe I missed a step on the way......

As an aside, I bought myself a Canon 1.4x and had the combo calibrated at Elstree and used it for this shot. The 500 had already calibrated a while ago.

I now find that shots with the Canon 1.4x are not as good as the ones I used to get using my old (uncalibrated) Sigma 1.4x - work that one out
