OT - new camera software question

Hi all! I got my new pocket cam today, a Canon Powershot S90. My question is this...it, of course, came with a software CD for Zoombrowser EX, Digital Photo Pro, etc. The owners manual says if you have these on your computer already (I do from my 5D software)to load the new CD and overwrite the existing software. Do I really need to do this? Does it give me newer versions or something or can I skip this step? Thanks! BTW, haven't done a lot with it yet but it's pretty cool so far.

It will give you newer versions of the software. The newer version of Digital Photo Pro, for instance, has highlight and shadow sliders that older versions didn't. Also, the older versions of the software might not recognize your spiffy new camera. I had to update my DPP when I got the 5D2.
