Bickleton Bluebirds
If you "Google" Bickleton WA, you'll learn about the small farming town in eastern Washington that proclaims itself as "The Bluebird Capital of the World." Over the years the town and surrounding ranchers have worked at building and supporting the returning population of both Mountain and Western bluebirds. The birds are easily spotted around the nest boxes put up in town and on the fencepost of surrounding roads.

This Mountain Bluebird male was captured a couple of days ago and sports the vibrant powder blues of the specie.

Now THAT is blue! What a great photo, Craig. And nice to know about Bickleton. Good on them for what they are doing, and sounds like it's paying off nicely.

Mountain Bluebirds are easily one of my favorites, I just love that soft blue. I've been out to Bickleton once and did some digiscoping, but if I ever get a long lens for my camera I'll make it a point to return.
