Multnomah Falls
This is from my recent trip to the Pacific NW in May. Still working on my web gallery (it's much more fun shooting the pix than it is processing) but hope to have it done in a couple weeks.

C&C welcome

Thanks for looking!

Wow, you really captured this one Amy! A stunning image!!!

Hmmmmm I wonder if this could be your entry for the white elephant next year...hint, hint.

a beautiful rendition of this falls, Amy. I like the greenery in the fg and the ability to see both the top and bottom of the falls. Would like to see just a bit more space at the top.

A well-captured classic northwest view Amy. I agree with Doug about the space on top but this is a very nice rendition.

Very nice - brings back my beautiful memories of Oregon
Were you able to visit the Toketee falls - is the area open now ?

Gorgeous image of the falls! What were your exposure setting for this photo, Amy? I really like how the water flows - don't often see it quite this soft with Multnomah Falls images.

Also - Soubhik - Toketee Falls will be closed for quite a while. Lots of rehab work to be done to the trail.

As Jack would say: purdy.

Thanks all! In regards to the top of the falls, they create a dip in the rock and from the viewpoint where i was, the only thing visible above the water was ugly white sky. Ick!

Marcy- I used a Canon 40D with a 10-22mm lens, ISO 200 w/ 1/2 sec exposure (no filters). It was cold, windy, and rainy so i had some random kid holding an umbrella above me and the camera and i was trying to keep the moisture off the lens with a shower cap I got at my hotel! Compose, focus, wipe, refocus, shoot, shower cap, check exposure, rewipe, etc. It was a pretty challenging shoot. I had to reshoot 4 times at that location over the course of 3 days. If it wasn't rain, it was school groups or tourists hanging out on the bridge.

Having been there a bunch of times, you made the right choice for the top of the frame. It's a killer MF shot!

Aside from just being a wonderful portrait of these falls, I like the foliage in the lower left corner. Really helps add depth here.

I like the comp on this a lot Amy for same reasons John mentioned about the foliage.

Great shot! Gotta love that super-wide 10-22, huh? Well done.

Always a great place to visit. Well done.

Very nice Amy. My gut reaction was like some of the earlier ones... wanting a little more room at the top, like the vegetation, the bridge is a good scale reference. The comments from you and Dave, who has been there, demonstrate to me that you did work this image the best you can. Well done and a neat capture.:toast:
