Barn Owl
Photograph of a female Barn Owl flying past where I was laying in wait, with a shrew she'd just caught, taken from a recent trip to Norfolk.I had picked her up early in the viewfinder, but held back from shooting a burst due to their brilliant hearing they have and they just bank off from where you are upon hearing your shutter. This image is as close has she got to where I was waiting in camo clothing, sun behind me.I captured that moment the shutter was pressed here, where she picked this up,giving me this beautiful look and flew off.

Great capture Craig, you've timed it just right - the glance and catchlight in the eye is just perfect. Must admit I've never photographed them in Norfolk, though I understand that this is one of their stronghold.

Hello Craig.

Excellent capture and the Barn Owl is perfecly placed in the darkest part of the background, and am excellet pose captured.

I might just tone down the top right a little.

Wonderful capture! Great eye contact and the prey is the icing on the cake. I agree about doing something with the top right.

Second one better. The owl does seem a little bright on my gear but its maybe the backdrop which is accentuating it.
Good stuff anyway.

Well planned Craig, or 'jammy booger'!!! Another second and he would have been caught against a mixed background which wouldn't have highlighted him as well. Great shot and the vole tops it off. A cracker.

Great positioning on that dark background, another that ticks all the boxes.

I really like it, although would be interested in seeing a portrait crop. Everything is really sharp with nice dof too.

Placement of the BO is spot on, love the HA and with prey too, good spot. Nicely executed Craig.
