Marbled White on Pyramid Orchid
Hi all, here's one from this morning, tried a horizontal composition which is unusual for me with butterflies but I think it works what do you think?
Techs -D300 105mm macro f11, 1/30 tripod MLU
All C&C welcome
Thanks for looking

Hi Shaun, I think this is your best macro image to date and glad you're keeping at it.

I think it needs to be a little higher in the frame as there is to much dead space at the top RHS. Big in the frame is good but can offer some challenging composition problems. Try and get the Bf off centre where possible. Also there is a big dust bunny just to the left of the orchid tip.

All that said you have processed this quite well and there is lots of detail in the Bf itself.

Looking forward to seeing more,

Brett :toast:

Very nice shot Shaun, agree with all of Bretts advice, the only thing I would add is a small reduction in the contrast, looks a little harsh on my monitor. Hope to see more.

Your hard work is paying off Shaun, and every image so far has improved with each posting. I fully agree with Brett's comments and advice.

Well done.

Hi Shaun

the hard works paying off and this is your best image to date :toast:

I agree its a bit too bright and you have a dust bunnie but easily sorted.

Just wish we had these nearer to me :frown:

Rare in these parts so a very good capture indeed. Its ticking all the boxes for me.

Lovely picture, lots out round here. Not nit picking but it's a common spotted orchid.

Cheers,

Rob
