OK, I downloaded some shots from my new little camera. When I tried to open a RAW image from it in PS CS4 it said "Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document".

HUH?!?

I downloaded the CD that came with the camera for Zoombrowser EX, etc. So why can't I get this image to open???

You'll need to download and install Adobe Camera Raw v5.6 for CS4. This version supports s90 RAW files.
