Bonxie in flight
Taken from a small boat hugging the cliff face, up on the tip of one of Scotlands furthest most islands. These birds are vicious, both to other birds and to anyone that gets too close! Huge birds too.

Nice shot. Haven't seen one in real life.
Just as Edwin said, the drops give something extra.

Love the droplets but also that mean look that says 'you're next for some beak and claw treatment'.

Yes, the droplets made it for me as well. You have produced a great result here in what were evidently very contrasty conditions.

Hi Steve,

Droplets definitely make this one together with the head turn and catchlight. I might add a bit back at the top to balance the composition.

Cheers

Thanks guys, Austin do you think it needs it? Might float it past Axel this week. BTW are you around this week, or out overseas?

cheers

Hi Steve,

Personally I think it is a bit tight at the top. It falls between a conventional crop and a panoramic but to my mind doesn't quite fit either. Nobody else has made this observation so it may just be my unusual taste.
Work permitting, I have no flights booked this week. Off on my travels the week after.

Cheers

Steve, for such an aggressive bird you must have been pretty close to it using a 70-200? The contrast is strong but overall I think it works!

Hello Sephen.

Stunning detail and I love the eye contact composition is fine for me.

The only comment I might make is to reduce the Saturation a little.

Interesting Guy, I added a fraction +10 before posting because I thought it looked a little flat. Probably the original was better, thanks for reinforcing my thoughts. :wavey:
