Ringed Plover,calling.
Taken on Inner Farne while the boatloads were being dive bombed by the terns,and carted off on stretchers.
Canon 1D Mk11N,300+1.4 canon lens,1/800 f6.3 and iso 400.

This is a beautiful picture of a species that is often far from confiding in my experience. The eye looks just a little too dark on my monitor and may benefit from some lightening, but otherwise a superb shot.

Well caught Phil, especially getting the beak open.

Nice habitat shown as well with complimentary colours.
