The flower foreground and dramatic mountain background is a great combo here. The empty lrc breaks the flow from flower to mountain a little; I wonder if a little closer to the flowers would have helped focus the eye from front to back a little more? (A shot with just the grass as a foreground, without the flowers, would look nice too.)
Thanks, John. I re-cropped it tightening about a thumb width on the right (without reducing sky) and that helped. I have a dozen or so others with just grass, a stream, etc. I'll keep playing with them.
I like the comp Marylynne, very nice coloring as well. I agree that perhaps a little tighter crop, especially one that gave more attention to the lupine would probably add some. Really nice as posted!

Marylynne, this is well seen. Nice color to the lupine, I agree with what others have said and put more emphasis on the lupine. Well done!!.
Oh, and I'm planning to go to this spot again next spring. Thoughts on focal lengths? Like, step back and use 90-105mm, or step up and go 20mm? I did a number of these with the Sigma 10-20, but the mountain gets very small.
Here is a link to a vertical crop of this area (I"m no longer sure it's the same patch of lupine). I have another of this area I'll share in a new thread.:
Thanks, Catherine. Last week was a very good week for my photography. It's amazing what I can do when I 'm not working and when I'm driving places by myself. I kept singing that Stones song: Ti-i-i-ime is on my side...yes it is.
