Moonrise focus stack
I was out 2 days before the recent full moon for my regular moonrise shooting. This shot was a 'focus stack' of 5 shots put together using Helicon Focus. I wish I had gotten the moon sharper and more distinct. Is it too soft in this shot to make the photograph 'work' for you?

One can tell it is the moon. I would prefer it be a bit sharper, nice attempt though.

Hey Scott, On my monitor it seems kinda flat and lacks life. I'm not sure what would help because I've never dealt with stacks or Helicon Focus. Just my humble opinion.......

I would intensify the flowers and then the moon become secondary and the out-of-focus or softeness of the moon does not detract from the composition. If the moon were sharper it might change the oblique line of the flower tops to a less appealing line.

As it is my eyes go from the expanse of the sky on the right, upwards along the color and line of the flowers, then down and back across to the moon. In my mind that is good composition. But, not everyone will view this photo the same.

In sum, I like the moon somewhat soft.

Great stuff--keep 'em coming, Scott.

The moon looks fine to me, Scott. Nice work.

I'm ok with the softness of the moon here Scott because the fg flowers should be your main subjects. It would have been nice if the one bloom hadn't intersected with the moon though.
