Rook portrait.
Used a newly built hide for the first time this morning and was set up to shoot my local sparrows so was lucky to get this in frame when this big lad dropped in. I managed two shots one of which was blurred as he took off again. I know it's tight but as an illustration of the power of that beak I think it works OK. This one is full frame and is as produced directly from camera.

Works for me Robert, the intense look coupled with the menacing beak captures the spirit of the bird.

Intense stare and menancing, as you say bit big in the frame but you would loose the menace if it was smaller so works well :toast:

Great and very detailed portrait, but a bit large in the frame for my taste.

Works just fine for me - very under-photographed species and one of my favourites. Excellent portrait.

Missed this earlier.
Good impact but I feel it would balance better with more space on the left. I do appreciate its full frame.

Great quality Robert and a bit tight in the frame for my tastes.

Hello Robert.

I would have like a little more room on the left, but the detail on this is amazing and I just think this is a stunning portrait, so I'm going to let you of.

Top Shot.

Appreciate you only had a fleeting moment to get this image... as such it is super... It would have been superb had the eye been on the upper right third at the same size in the frame.... but of course by the time it was framed the bird would have been gone....

Very nice detailed image... Should you wish space could be added to the left.....
