Mount Evans this morning
I got to Mount Evans highway a little late this morning, but still a good time. I've never been up there before. WOW, is it beautiful! I have a hard time not going telephoto for each photo I shoot, so I tried to incorporate some ground cover into the foreground for a few shots. Once I got to the top there were about ten mountain goats running around above the clouds.

#6 - Looking at it again makes me think I need to bring down the highlights in the clouds...

These are great Charles; I was up at Mt Evans as well today. Probably was right next to you on top shooting the goats, we're you the gentleman shooting with a Sony?

Looks like great conditions. Try number 6 as a monochrome.

Thanks, all.

Kurt-I was the moron that was wearing flip flops because I forgot my shoes. I have a Canon xsi and was using a Tamron 18-200. I was also chasing the baby goat around the southwest side of the parking lot, then it came up to the rock where the three of us were shooting. There were two others on top with me, someone in the parking lot and another down below the goats on the east slope...which were you?

Some really good cloud action. It does run in the family. I like #5 and #6.

Great stuff! Knowing you'd be up there, I grabbed a screen cap of the satellite image from around 7am yesterday.

Flip flops? good thing it wasnt bitterly cold with howling winds up top like it normally is. I might have left at that point but I had a yellow ballcap on and a grey fleece and was down below on the east side. I was there for probably 90min but my best shots we're when I left and went down hill and pulled out on one of the turns to photograph a marmot that I spotted. After taking photos of the marmot 2 Goats came up the hill with 4 kids and went right by me twice. It was a grand morning to say the least, colors for sunrise we're good but the clouds had cleared out by the time the color started(summit lake)

Great collection of images. The cloud bank in #1 is a knock out.

Great clouds! LIke the surroundings in that first kid image.

Loe the rolling clouds in the last one Charles! I actually like the clods in most all of these. The like the goat shot in #4...as far as a different crop. If it were mine, I would probably loose the rock on the right and shave some off the top...but keep a lot of the BG in the process to show depth. Nice shots! :toast:
