We just got back from an awesome trip to the Grand Junction/Moab area. My husband did some mountain biking on his favorite trails near Fruita, we hiked up on the Grand Mesa, did some desert hiking at Fisher Towers and at Arches NP, and yet more hiking in the La Sals. The Mesa & La Sals were sure a nice reprieve from the desert heat - it was almost like being on a different planet.
I've taken quite a few images in CNM the last several years but never got anything I liked. This time out, I got lucky with some great sunset conditions and think I got a few I might not delete
What do you think of this one? Independence Monument is on the left.

Great detail on the right ridge. I like the sky and clouds.
The photo appears a little dark on my monitor, kind of like the sunset I submitted.
This can add to the ambiance but I would like to see a rendition where the central portion, especially the cliffs towards center-left, is lightened a bit for comparison.
As always, nice shot.

Love the view from here, Angela, and you had a great sky for this. I'll bet that was a wonderful trip - hope to see some more!

What a nice sky and some real nice light on the distant buttes. There are an abundance of elements to enjoy here. The fg does feel a bit tight but with so much cool stuff to take in at a distance it would be easy to overlook. Glad you had such a good time out West.
I like it Angela. Great light on the right side rocks and background and great sky, enough light in the canyon for the details. Looks like a great place. I bet it was hot in the desert though.
