Indian Peaks: Lake Isabelle Reflection
A few from last Saturday and Sunday in the Ward/Brainard Lake area. I was at Lake Isabelle at sunrise the same day Stan shot sunset. As you can see by comparing the two posts he had a lot more clouds to work with. Although I was lucky to see some glass-like reflections which I haven't yet experienced in the Indian Peaks.

A little while later from the same perspective but with dramatically different light. The vignette was not added in post processing but, I think, resulted from a combination of the GND, wide angle lens and the natural brightness of all the snow in the center of the frame.

The outlet on the other side of the lake. Two exposures combined for sharpness of the background peaks + blurring of the water.

In addition, the previous night's sunset over Sawtooth as viewed from the Peak to Peak byway. There were a lot of clouds in other directions around me that lit up even more brilliantly than these but I couldn't quite make a great comp out of them. Still, I'll settle for conditions like this any time. The shadow detail of the foreground may depend on your monitor. Yes, it is dark on mine but with a very subtle hint of the detail in the trees on the bottom ridge lines.

Thanks for looking as always.

Love the color in the first one, and the ability to see through the foreground water in the first two, esp. the second one. Nice sunset, too!

The reflections are great Josh! I always notice the changes in light, but seeing them posted at the same time, same shot...really shows the dramatic difference.

Reflections shots are sweet.

The first two are just sick, Joshua! Splendid comps, light, and color. And the still reflections are killer.

I really love the first shot, Joshua! Certainly a perfect shot of Lake Isabelle.

Josh, those reflections are great -- must be an unusual sight to have no ripples on that big lake. Great work dude, keep it up. Hey, we need to get together soon!

Graet collection. My favorite is a toss up between the falls and sunset.
