Decided to spend my day off out at Pawnee in the morning. I spent most of my time photographing the Burrowing Owls...I also got questioned by a government official about what I was doing out there and what I was photographing. Afterwards, they kindly asked me not to point my camera towards a building by this location...hmmm
Ah, self-importance on display. I call it the orange vest syndrome, in commemoration of all the flashlight-wielding parking attendants at Red Rocks and other venues I've encountered over the years, who just feel like having that orange vest gives them a special kind of power over us "regular" people. Sounds like this encounter was lacking only the orange vest, swapped for an official govt. uniform. I guess if it had been me, with my low tolerance for such things, I'd have asked him if there were any specific laws I was bending or breaking, and if not, I'd tell him to mind his own damn business.
As for the photos, I love the sharpness of the first, and the behavioral aspects of the other two.

Same here.
You did a fine job capturing one of my favorite birds. #1 is definitely worthy of a large print! I can hardly see any motion blur on #2, so I reckon it's just right. You might consider selecting the eye and bringing the middle of the Curve upward just a bit so it shows up just a bit more.
