Stan's the Man
Well, here are my contributions from my shoot with Stan Rose on Saturday morning. He called the cirrus clouds moving in right about sunrise. He's a weatherman extraordinaire! I really enjoyed shooting with another neurotic like me. We were moving around like crazy in the time just before sunrise trying to find comps with where the light show was forming. Great time and conditions Stan. Glad you went without sleep.

Comments and critiques always welcome, and thanks for looking,

Morris

Very nice! Love the subtle colors and the comp in the first image.

Wow!!! Not only are the shots excellent but the processing with such great disparities in exposure is really top notch. Great work MM.

Hi Morris - I really like #2 and #4 (especially the beautiful sky!). You were lucky to get a good sky on one of the mornings that the park opened early. I went to the early opening day in May and the employee who was supposed to open the gate was 25 minutes late and the clouds were long gone. Nice work!

Morris,
They are all fine images, but, #2 is my favorite....thanks for posting.

Thanks all! And Sarah, both Stan and I do know just how fortunate we were to have a sunrise like this on the early opening day. Yours is a photographer's horror story. Get up that early and wait and watch while the clouds disappear and the ranger is late getting there. I would have NOT been happy!

Morris very nice images. #2 & #3 are my faves.

Morris ~ You really took advantage of the day!! Great series.

Damn Morris! These are all spectacular! I'll bet that's the last time Stan takes you shooting.

Great series! #3 is the winner for me, everything to like in that one!

A remarkable series! I have to echo Todd's comment (..and not for the first time) that the 'development' is outstanding here. I especially like the inclusion of the path in #1.

All of the series is amazing. What I like the most in all of the images is how you captured the depth of field. The space invites you in and goes on forever. Really feels like I am there.

These are all fantastic Morris, I especially like 2, 3 & 4. You were gifted with great conditions, and certainly made the most of it!!. Excellent!.

Wow Morris-you and Stan knocked these out of the park! Your previous shots from here were fantastic and inspirational at the least, but these are just spectacular. Comps are all original and balanced and the processing as others have mentioned is right on. Maybe we should get a group together to lobby for more early openings next year during WF season? Have others tried this already?

Thanks so much everyone. Your encouragement is very much appreciated.
Jared, I'm not sure who has lobbied in the past to set these early openings up with the state, but I think there is one every month in the summer. And I think it's a great idea to lobby for more openings during wildflower season next year.

great compositions, each of them! Thanks for sharing.

Top notch work, Morris. I love your images from here. As already mentioned, your processing is excellent.

What can i say---OUTSTANDING! (And thanks for the nice title  ) Just a terrific collection. Contrary to Caz's suggestion, i never would have even thought of meeting up there if it werent for your previous series, so i definitely think we should plan another tag-team (how bout Mt Evans in the midst of a major thunderstorm...)

I'm all for it, Stan. Let me know when the conditions look ripe!

Great set! The light in that first one is oh so sweet. Agreed - great processing.
