Another shot from my exploration of the Warm Springs reservation. At first I cursed the car barrelling down the road and covered my camera with my shirt. After they passed, I looked up and went....oh....thank you! I have others without the car and dust cloud, but this was my favorite...it added a human element to the scene:

Canon 7d with 24-105mmL at 58mm
Handheld at ISO 160, f/13, 1/125s
ND Grad filter (on crooked :frown: )

I like the human element you have here, the glowing grass heads make for a decent foreground too.

Really a great shot, Marylynne! Love all the elements in there including the dust/car, the flowers in the foreground, the light. Of course, the mountain, the star of the show, looks wonderful, too. The crooked ND doesn't seem to have had much of an ill effect.

Marylynne, nice shot. I love how the grasses look like they are glowing gold. Well done!!

Very nice shot Marylynne. The mountain/grass/flowers/road/dust work very well together. The curve of the road and the dust kicked up by the vehicle really make this a successful image IMO. I think you did a great job capturing the feel of the Warm Springs Reservation.

I like this shot for the overall feeling of presence. Great shot, Marylynne.

Thanks for the compliments, everyone. Sorry it took me so long to read the replies...been in meetings all day the last two days. I plan to explore this area a bit more. It was absolutely lovely a couple of weeks ago, but I'm sure the flowers are fading and the grasses haven't turned red/purple yet. August will be another good time to visit, I think.

Catherine: I did try to compensate for the crooked nd grad by using LR's gradient tool to dark the might side and the brush to bring it down a little too. If you look really closely you can see something was messed with there, but I'm glad it's not a deal breaker.
