At least the park site has been warning about the construction delays since before the road opened this spring. I have just decided to pass on this area until next year. That's the nice thing about not being a tourist on vacation. We can afford to wait until better days!

Wow! What a collection! Ive got too many favs to start a list, might as well list them all (well. except for #2 you posted here  ) but i have to say those elk shots are amazingly unique--you should definitely get some prize money for the first one for sure. :toast:

How do you always manage to get these kind of cloud conditions? Outstanding shots and I'm not going to pick a favorite because that would diminish the rest, which just wouldn't be right! All of them are excellent.

Great series of images. Looks like the day paid off in spades. Really like 2,6,&16 with six as my pick of the day.

All those clouds and fog along with the altitude, give this series a Heavenly feeling. Excellent!

WOW! I love them all, but 2, 6, 7, and 15 are sweeeeeeeeet!

GREAT photos. Are you like a cloud magnet or something or do you just have the ability to cause clouds to form where ever you go?? :toast:

Fantastic Series, I'm also amazed at your cloud abilities.

Terrific series, Todd! I really like #6. The elks shots are exceptional too. Trail Ridge is a great place to be when weather like that is happening. Glad you were there to capture some it.

Great shots Todd. Looks like the clouds really put on a show. Like the elk eating in the snow as well.

I am SO GLAD you are going to pass on this area for a year. It's going to take me at least that long to get as many good photos. Some of those are simply stunning. I particularly like #2,#6, and #10 but WOW! What a productive day. :toast:

You definitely made the best of your situation. 2 and 6 are my faves, but I would love have all of them in my collection.

I don't know whats more impressive. The first shot, or the fact you made 54 little lines to all those cars in the second shot. :jump:

Impressive collection. Although very hard to choose, #7 is my fave of the bunch.

Timing may not be everything but it is sure on the high end of all important lists. One thing that could really help you in times like those in photo #2 is some emergency lights to get you through those jams. Really like the simplicity of the those trees and fog.

I'm convinced that your eye for a pleasing composition is simply unsurpassed in Colorado (..and even from a vehicle!).
Once upon a time, you told me that you lived and breathed Colorado.
Well, the proof is in work like this.
