Do you know I seem to have the monopoly on making a pigs ear of it.
Wrong place, wrong light, wrong lens. My encounter with Prarie Dogs was totally unexpected but what a treat I tried to make the best of it and ended up with a mini series of shots that I'm proud of but I could still do with more advice.
These creatures are so timid and with acute hearing they are off in a flash unless you catch them when they are at lunch. OK big in frame but hey to get this close a chance in a million for me.
Critque, Advice and comments most welcome.
Thanks for looking.

I think John's right Barry. Ideally a little more room on the left but obviously you didn't have that choice. A great capture and lovely to see. You couldn't ask for a better closeup than that.

Your processing has gone a bit 'muddy' again Barry
Also, rightly or wrongly, the image gives me the impression that it needs rotating 90 degrees CCW.
They are cute little things though Barry - something I'd love to photograph - you need to go back with that big 800mm
Good old Murphy's Law still in evidence then. It seems no matter what lens we go out with we need the one that's at home. At least you have a good encounter stored in your memory Barry. Better luck next time. That eye looks pin sharp!

Bryce Canyon Utah Harsh light.
I feel this could have more impact if you give it a tighter crop with the head over to the right.
Cheers

Still a very good close up, now get back prepared and get that shot
