I will be travelling to Budapest this September to watch my daughter compete in the world triathlon event.

Planning to stay in the area and looking for some ideas or links on where to get some good landscape shots.

We are meeting some friends in Bordeaux, France and are looking to take the train from Budapest area to Paris and then down to Bordeaux. Any thoughts on taking the train vs flying?

Also, any resources or great location shots would be appreciated.

While still not finished, you can see some of the type of shots I do at

thanks

Bonjour.
Not far from Bordeaux there is a place called "PARC ORNITHOLOGIQUE DU TEICH " Massive bird reserve with plenty of hides. Just google it to get more info.
Hope this help

Thank you Frederic. I will look at. From my research there seems to be a lot of history around the area which should present some great photography opportunities.

Have a look at this site:

There are some great views from the hills around there.

I work in Budapest about once a year, whilst the city is architecturally stunning, for wildlife it is a bit sparse. I would drive to where Fredric has said or to Lake Neusiedl (150 mile NE) on the border if you are looking for wildlife.

Looking forward to the visit and enjoying the city and the country
