Green Woodpecker
This female has been coming to the pool every day at about 4:30, and the male at about 5:30. nearly every time she lands on the stump something else does too! Theres usually a glaring session for a while and good for getting fluffy feather jobs

good image John love the colour shame about the oof bit of branch but I would still love a good shot of a green woody so this would do for me

Thanks Karen
Maybe I should have posted this one first !
The shorter focal length and slightly smaller aperture has got all the log right but of course there isn't the bird detail
Same specs but f 11

Thanks all.
I suppose I could clone the focused stump onto the single bird shot stump but where do you stop ?
Thanks for looking. Nice ones drinking to come.

Phil.
The second image is by far the better of the two John, excellent work IMO.
Andy...
Two very good shots imho I'd be proud of both if they were mine.

I love the way that the Magpie looks totally unconcerned by the woddys stare.

Exactly ! He's more concerned with the shutter noise from the hide than the woody !

the second one is best I think John. Very good indeed!
Kind regards
