Killdeer in NE Fort Worth
Not many birds at the Village Creek Sludge Beds in NE Fort Worth today. However, I did find a pair of killdeer foraging. Shot on bean bag from car window.

Around these parts the old timers have a saying about someone who is tall and thin.
"Looks like he/she swapped legs with a Killdeer and lost their butt in the deal."
I can see where this comes from. Joe Rogers

Dr. Dan,
I have these guys around my home but they are always running a significant distance ahead of me.
Nice shot. Some fringing on my screen. Oversharpened?

i see a slight fringe - nothing that can't be fixed though. and certainly not a deal-breaker.

this is an amazing shot. i can't imagine the patience it takes to consistently get good bird images like this. perfect focus.

these are interesting birds to watch. they sometimes will build a nest right in the open in the middle of a busy place. like a parking lot or a driveway. of course the mama bird will feign injury if you get too close to the nest - at least if there are eggs or babies in it anyway.

Very nice Daniel. I really like the coloration around a killdeer's eye (which you captured very well here). Fine detail and a pleasing fg / bg oof frame. There does appear to be a slight halo, perhaps from over sharpening.

You must have a very low profile car ... I would have never guessed from this perspective (even at your effective focal length) that you were shooting from a car hide. Nice.

Nice. Glad you had a chance to get out when you were here!
