Do you mean, have the Duraplaq people printed it up? I didn't even know they did that! I hope the answer is yes and it was an excellent experience, because that seems like it would be quite a symbiotic way of doing things.

Well sort of Todd. They have labs in Greeley that print for them..they don't print stuff themselves. But they have an upload function. I am wondering if anyone has used that function. Duraplaq has such rave reviews I can't imagine they'd have a half assed lab print up stuff for clients. I am going to use it if no one says it's bad...be a hell of a lot easier and quicker than mailing them prints.
I haven't done that but I have had prints done by WHCC.com and had them ship directly to DuraPlaq. It costs a little extra to ship directly to them but it may still be cheaper than the Greeley lab depending on their prices.
I recently sent a digital file to them of a wildflower that they printed 11x14 and then mounted on a standard plaque. I was really pleased with the result. They were redoing a plaque that had a bad corner so I ended up with 2 plaques for the price of one. I hope I can upload files in the future. It is so much easier.
Tim doesn't do the printing in house but uses Fine Print Imaging and Denver Digital. I have been using Fine Print for a couple of years now and have been very happy with their work. You can go through Tim or do as i do and deal with them directly. Tim also does pickups from them. Pam if you haven't talked to Tim give him a shout. I am sure you won't be dissapointed as he aims to please.

Mike, I did talk to Tim and have an account set up. Thought I'd ask around here about files sent to them to be printed. Glad to hear your answer! I will go ahead and upload to Duraplaq and let them get it printed. I can't imagine the price would be that different than other places.

Like Grant, I usually print through WHCC or myself. I have outsourced prints sent to me so I can sign them before mounting. I drop the prints at Denver Digital or Metro Frameworks (near our gallery on Tennyson) for pickup by Tim or his crew. So far the process and results have been great, very easy to deal with. The turnaround is generally less than a week, sometimes just a couple of days. Tim is great to work with and deals with any issues promptly and professionally.
The upload, print, and mount option sounds appealing, but you wouldn't be able to sign the print unless you went to Greeley.

Can't you sign the duraplaqed image after the fact. It wouldn't be under the laminate but I suppose it could be done. Also could incorporate a sig into the file.
Pamela, they put on a protective coating on the images, so I would recommend either doing a digital signature before printing or getting the print and signing it before you send it off to Duraplaq.
The guy that is doing the printing for DuraPlaq is Barry Bailey http://www.barrybaileyphotography.com and his work is top notch. He moved his fine art printing business into the DuraPlaq building and I've had quite a few prints done by him. My only complaint is that he isn't charging enough for his work for the amount of time he puts into making each print perfect. Give him a try, you won't be disappointed.

Just talked to Tim at Duraplaq again to clarify some points so thought I'd pass them along. They print using three of the largest labs in Colorado and occasionally Barry Bailey whom Erik mentioned. After you upload your file Tim checks it and calls to discuss printing with you. On the rare occasion that a print comes back from a lab in an unsatisfactory condition, Tim makes sure it is perfect before it's plaqued. I chickened out on the upload this time (print on its way from Mpix) but after this phonecall, I will not hesitate to use the upload feature. A comparable size (16 x 24) was quoted by Tim as $26...Mpix $17.99 + shipping + me shipping to Duraplaq will probably be a little cheaper for me to upload to DP instead in the future.
