A Black Canyon & Frozen Falls
Taken in the Ram River Falls area near Nordegg, Alberta, Canada. At first glance I wasn't interested in taking a picture of the falls, but then I noticed the opposing straight diagonal lines in the black canyon, a sight seldom scene in nature. Taken with a Canon 5Dmk2 and a Canon 24-105 L lens.

Those are odd lines Howard. Would've been more noteworthy is some snow was collected in those lines. Interesting though

I guess my first impression is, if you saw that waterfall and DIDN'T think it warranted a photo, you're in serious need of an intervention! Killer shot with or WITHOUT those cool diagonals.

Very nicely seen and captured. The lines make for a very interesting comp, and the waterfall tops the whole shot off.

Very interesting indeed. Have you considered cropping to just above the falls to lose the extraneous details that don't add to the diagonals noted? Makes for a stronger image, IMO.

Very abstract image!

Howard, I really like the diagonals in this as you stated! I also think John's suggestion is a good one from what I can tell, I think it does make this more powerful.
