Getting Anticrepuscular in the SLV
This shot was taken near Alamosa in early June. I was/am trying to find that balance with my soon to be wife, and had *promised* not to shoot this day. Well, wouldn't my luck have it so that this day was some of the most incredible light I have ever seen? I grew up with the crazy light in the valley and this was INSANE. I was actually sweating and twitching as I watched the light unfold and tried to keep myself from pulling my camera out. After a rainbow formed OVER this scene, I couldn't take it and I got the green light to shoot. I flew down the road toward the Alamosa Wildlife Refuge (closest spot I could think of) and once in the clear of any houses or buildings, just jumped out of the car, across a fence and an irrigation canal, and just started shooting to at least capture this moment. The light had faded and the rainbow had disappeared, but wanted to share regardless. This isn't really being shared for the lackluster comp or the processing so don't be too hard on me, just wanted to share the scene. Hopefully some day I can witness something like this again with more time to compose a better image.

Like it. Thanks for sharing. Have you purchased flowers lately for your fiancee?

Bill,
there was a pretty lengthy back massage in order by the end of the weekend. It was good to draw a line for myself and see firsthand that I just couldn't hold myself to it-I'm now fully aware that I have a problem...

Really wild light! There is no help for your problem. Only an understanding wife will see you through it!
