Lovely shot, the comp works for me, the eye is on a third and nice and sharp, there is a nice bit of backlighting as well :toast: :toast:

A busy time right enough Rob.

Makes more of a feature and interesting having something in the bill, looks quite a mouthful bet they were kept busy. It looks like a slight magenta cast in the whites on the breast and head? I do like the mossy post juxtapose to the BG, a nice contrast between the two textures. Also nice to see a variety of shades & colours in the BG rather than the solid 'studio' backdrop. Look forward to seeing more.

That will do nicely, I would tweak the levels a little as this side of the bird is in shadow and I think you have a few more details you could recover in the darker areas on the wing of the bird.

Thanks for the suggestions; I have increased the levels a touch (can't take it too far or I lose the white breast) and added a touch of warming filter. I have to admit that all the images from this session suffered from casts of one sort or another and it's good that I can get an outside opinion.

that's a lovely shot Robert, very nicely taken. The beak full of insects certainly adds interest. I prefer the repost (but I'm useless at spotting casts  )
