Oh Dear, bloomin tourists. + REPOST
A visit to Skomer was proving as good now as it was thirty odd years ago. Blasted stairs

A bit off the top Paul... what a nice image, despite some simple faults it is so so appealing...

Nice one...

that title just suits this image so much made me smile the expression is just great

Paul I agree about a little off the top. Other than maybe toning down the white blob in the foreground it is a lovely image. Different to the normal setting/posture for a Puffin. I like this very much indeed. :wavey: :toast:

Hi Paul,

Nothing major and nothing that you could really do anything about.. I think you need a slight increase in the mid tone contrast... nothing major and make sure it is done on your tiff not the posted jpeg... that should improve detail a little in the whites... you could also try adding black to the whites in selective colour....

The only other processing improvement could be to tone down the OOF forground.... these things are possible with digital and with extreme care... as I said I think this is a wonderful image and for me, one of the best you have posted....

All the best

So with a little bit of midtone, some itty bitty black added to the whites and a little down toning,,, so is it up there???

Hi Paul

Very very nice, I like the composition better in the repost but just a tad dark on my monitor.

I think you have the makings of a very nice image indeed.. Great second post, just a little more tweaking and it will be spot on.. Nice work.

Smart image Paul, the repost looks spot on to me, considering the Puffin is sat in the entrance to it's burrow the shot is going to look a little dark.

The repost looks good to me and nicely framed with interesting looking foliage.

Loved the first picture, the second one even better.

Agree with the others that it looks just a smidgen dark though.

Other than that, superb! :toast:

I agree with Andy Shepherd on this one. I didn't have a problem with the first crop but the in all other aspects the repost is spot on. The light is as I would expect to se it in it's burrow.

Great composition! I think somewhere between the two would be right - maybe a little less contrast on the repost.
