Went to the Snowy Range yesterday and was greeted with high winds, cloudless sky, and less than optimal bloom. The dominant color was yellow. There were patches of columbine and lupine. No Indian paintbrush some Alpine sunflowers. The beetle kill has traveled higher this year but still hasn't reached the high meadows. Probably mid next week would be a good choice. Seems to be running a week behind last year.

Thanks Don, I'll be up there next week and the week after. I'll try to post conditions update after my hike.
