My wife and I went up into the buttermilks after work the other day to check out the wildflowers a friend of mine told me about. It was pretty nice! I'm not much of a flower shooter, but had to shoot these and managed to get a few that I was happy with. They were blooming between 8300'-8900' in a very localized area deep in the 'milks. There's a couple more pics on my blog if you're interested. I don't think I've seen these pink version of indian paint brush before.

It's getting hot up here on the east side, 104 yesterday and supposed to be the same or more today/tomorrow. Looks like we're heading for the hills!

A truly gorgeous array of wildflowers here, Cory. No doubt having Mother Nature's Playground as your backyard has many benefits.

thanks paul, michael, & robert!

@michael: I was looking at this the other day and thought the same thing, looks like I took a pic of someone's garden. wish we had these around the house to add some color. funny thing is these were all growing in an old two track dirt road!

Nice display of colors, Cory. By the way, your weather cam is one of my regularly checked resources for the area (along with the Dweeb report and Yosemite cams).

I've been around the BMilks a bit, but never found this secret spot. Great image, Cory.

thanks rudy, jeffrey, and richard! I wasn't sure I had come back with anything worthwhile from this little outing, but looks like this is a keeper. I printed it on 13x19 paper the other day and it came out rather nice!

Some great eye-poppin' color, Cory! What a great little garden to stumble upon.
