Photographed some pika on Mount Evans this morning. Also some lady called three of us photographing the mountain goats "stupid People" because we mentioned her kids might not want to get to close to the goats and the fact her kids walked right in front of us while we were photographing the goats. She said the goats were so used to people anyway, they were practically tame. Talk about "stupid people"!
What a moron. But success in spite of her! These are really great, Dan. Both pika pics look like they could be captioned, "I think I can! I think I can!" And the baby goat with flower frame? I think I should just sell my gear.
I'm glad you kept your focus on your work in spite of idiots about us! Some people should never have been allowed to be parents!
That having been said, Those are without a doubt, the best Pika shots I have ever seen. And the goat one is just one of your typically superb efforts.
Great shots Dan.. excellent focus as usual and some great captures.

And then those stupid people are quick to call a lawyer when one of those "tame" animals objects to having their space invaded.
I agree that those are probably the best Pika photos that I've seen and the third kid photo is also very nice. I would say that you had a great morning up there.
Yeah, if the goat had touche don of the children, it would have been 'euthanized'
Great shots, Dan--that second one is just obscenely cute!

Dan, these are spectacular! I see you posted one of these Pika shots on Fauna also...I will be sure to go comment over there as well. These really are some of the best Pika shots I have also seen! Congrats! I wish I was there when she said something....because you know how quiet I can be... Wish I could have been up there this weekend, but out of town for family issue.
All three are most excellent, but I really like the second pika. What a cutie!!
People are indeed stupid. They seem to think animals in parks are "tame" and they get waaay too close and then WHAM! that's when they understand the critter is NOT tame. Like Stan said, the poor critter would be blamed and euthanized rather than the person being punished for their stupidity. Sucks

Without a doubt two of the best pika images I've ever seen Dan The kid couldn't be in better surroundings...super shot! The scary thing about stupid people who raise stupid kids is the kids are gonna be the ones who take care of us when we're old
Dan, I'm constantly in awe of your work! You do such an amazing job of revealing wildlife in their habitat. I wish I had even just half of your talent in this area.
