Vacation shots
I spent part of last week on a backpacking trip around the Maroon Bells, about 40 miles all above 10,000 ft. I certainly found out I'm not as young as I used to be but still felt prety good overall. Unfortunately we were hiking too much to have time for much other than snapshots but I got a few I like.

This from a few days before our trip from site of the massive Hayman forest fire in 2002.

This is the Maroon Bells from the side that most tourists don't see.

This is Capital peak from the trailhead area. Looks like a great fall location to me.

After a week of carrying my camera around my neck,it is pretty dirty. Any tips on cleaning it other than a soft brush and tack cloth?

Thans for looking.

Great shots, Ken. The second shot looks like Maroon Pass? I am out in Colorado now and will back in a week.

Nice shots, Ken.
The thing that ALWAYS impresses me in such back country as you visited is the silence. You can hear it....

Beautiful images. Wish I had been there with you. Thanks for bringing a touch of the mountains to us here below.

Oh, I'm jealous! I've never gone to Maroon Bells but it's on my ever-growing "bucket list."

The second shot is outstanding. Love all those beautiful colors.

Those are some impressive sights & locations Ken. The second one looks almost like it could of been the same place where Bill made the more intimate extracts he just posted. The mountains of Colorado are a good idea ... just about any time of year.
