I need a monitor calibrator. Would appreciate any brand names, etc, and what worked well, and if you tried a brand that didn't work well.
Any info is appreciated.

Ralph,

Certain colorimeters work better with certain monitors, so it will be helpful if you would tell us what monitor(s) you are using.

It's also helpful if you tell us what OS you're using.

Before you install and use a new calibration/profiling tool, I suggest that you install the latest video card driver from the manufacturer of the card, and set it's color controls to thier default values.

I have been very happy with my Eye One Display2 on an LCD monitor.

I like my Spyder3 Pro on Mac 21 inch LCD.

I'll add a vote for the Eye One. The CD that comes with it has installs for both PCs and Macs.

I'd HIGHLY suggest this site. I found both my monitor and calibrator on this site. I got the eye one display 2 and HP LP2275w. If I ever get a better screen, I will likely opt to get the Lacie Blue eye pro. I think the eye one display 2 is alright, but could use many improvements, longer cord, better diagnostic system, and more useful information on how successful the calibration was.
