10 frame pano of a short section of Padley Gorge, each frame is an exposure blend of 3 frames, so 30 shots all in all - I felt sorry for the poor bloke behind me as I was there quite some time
The slightly better PoV is from in the water but with only boots on I wasn't up for that; not after the soaking I got on Sunday with Messrs Warrender, Davies and Snape
Methinks a rapido return visit with chest waders might be called for!
D3 + 14-24
ISO 100
Exposure blend groups 1/1.3 sec, 1.3 sec & 3 sec all at f18.

Let's say the shot is a work in progress

I wasn't laughing .....honest ....take ya zimmer frame next time .And there was me thinking it was only Maggie that fell in the drink .Andy says he has some pizza left over and Mike says you look very fetching in ya water proofs .
Loved in on first viewing , no need to change my mind .
Its a nice shot as usual...technically good too. My feeling is that the right hand side of the pano looks pretty nice with the knarled and curling trees above the falls...if you could combine this with the falls in a vertical pano I think this might work better IMO. You could do a lower shot with a longer lens and combine focal points of different parts of the same shot using something like helicon focus. If you get in too close i.e. waders your just going to get the falls and loose the interesting canopy/foilage around it...which I feel makes Padley and gives it atmosphere. Might also be worth trying in autumn with some IR kit...for something a bit different.
A beautiful image Andy. I know some people hate "milky" water but I love it. I think it looks so tranquil. All sounds too technical for me but it has certainly worked. I recognise the place. Kato and I took photographs of that very spot last year. Only trouble is you would need to be a mountain goat to get round Padley
Sorry to hear you ended up in the drink on Sunday Its not just me then
Nice one Andy... as it is a work in progress I am not fond of the bottom left hand corner... look forward to seeing more....

Thanks all
Phil - me neither!
I think the better PoV may well be slightly downstream of the roots in the left hand corner and just in the water.
The main problem is you don't have much more room out of frame top before you start seeing blown sky through the trees further up the gorge, which is a pain in the bum.
It's something that'll keep me off street corners for a while

Like this - very crafted. A slight nit might be the 'messy' debris in the left-hand corner but overall its a lovely image.
Cheers,
Chris

Honestly - very nice work and I hope, one day, to produce something half as good.
Brett..
Ps. If only I get my Lee Filters that I've been waiting for over 6 months for..!
Might have to try this multiple exposure mularky sometime
