Mushroom id
We have a woodland area on our ranch. I photograph scores of mushrooms, but never can find the ID, as many are so unique.
Any mycologists around to help?

This one's so old that you probably *would* need an expert to hazard a guess. For what it's worth, it's sometimes really hard even for an expert to identify a photo of a *fresh* mushroom unless it's a common species. If you have a local mycological society, someone there might be helpful about IDs. If you're lucky they'll talk you into joining them for a foray or two. :)
