Certainly does look like you have succeded....

But I have to ask.... why so many programs to process the image? apart from the RAW converter I am counting three separate applications... all of them able to do the same job as the other....

Hi David - that's tack sharp where it matters :wavey:

Question for you; will your Sig body not synch with your ring flash at any speed?

If you can, then using front curtain synch may well freeze the wings motion too - assuming that's what you wanted to do of course.

Personally, I like to see some movement in an insect's wings, otherwise it can look as though it has been nailed to the background. This is a great shot and I am glad you got what you wanted.

Impressive result for manual focus. I find the flower to be a bit too dominant and would crop a good bit from the right. I like square comps

Thanks folks for the comments, very much appreciated. :wavey:

PhilH.
I don't like having all my eggs in one basket, each program has its strengths and weaknesses, so using more than one program to process an image extends my choice, I find.

Andy
Yes it has second curtain sync and high-speed sync, but I wanted wing movement.

Craig
You've not been posting lately.
