Had my first visit to Skomer Island for a few years yesterday. Mixed weather, including heavyish rain for about half an hour.
Canon 40D, Sigma 500mm f/4.5, tripod, ISO 200, 1/100th sec., f/9.

That's a cracker! The rain streaks and drops are great. If you cropped this, I would be inclined to give a bit more space in front of the bird.

Rain(or snow) always adds something to an image and this is no exception.A fine portrait.

The rain adds interest; nice work. Did you manage to get any close-up shots with the rain drops perched on top of the birds head?

Good to see you posting again, Jeremy; this is superb, no nits from me at all, it's spot-on!

Jeremy, I tried to get over to Skomer a few weeks ago - no rain just clear blue sunshine but he still wouldn't land .................. All I got were a few (distant) shots from a rocking boat so count yourself one of the lucky ones, rain and all. Given the conditions this is a very good shot, captures the mood! :toast:
