Grasshopper (big in frame) & Repost
Hi all :wavey:
Heres one from yesterday, originally it was going to be focus stacked but surprisingly it wouldn't keep still!! so I had to settle for one image, I purposely took it big in frame to show the detail to its best(I have others smaller in frame).

Usual techs, D300, 105mm macro tripod, mlu, remote -1/60 @ f11
As always all critique and comments most welcome.

Thanks :wavey:

BIF - Great.  Plenty of detail. A shame about FS it would have brought the rear leg into focus, but that's the way it is with upredictable subjects. Still these challenges are there to be met. Keep up the good work. :wavey:

Shaun I think you have done very well with this. I tried these a couple of weeks ago but couldn't manage to get one on a stem. They were either on the ground (amongst leaves etc or on a wall). :wavey:

Not sure what you've done with the processing Shaun but it looks almost HDR-like, which to me spoilt the presentation of an otherwise very good image.

Regards,

Des

Nice capture, would be tempted to drop the saturation a tad. but thats me :toast:

I'd agree with Des - the processing looks slightly off Shaun, but I like the comp a lot.

John - when Des says HDR he's on about High Dynamic Range, a method of blending different exposures, more often associated with landscape work.

Hi :wavey:
Thanks for the comments, slightly puzzled by the HDR effect, it was only processed as usualso do not really know what has caused that impression, anyway I have reduced the sat of the green and yellows slightly and I think that has improved it, repost below. The only thing I can think that caused this effect if the light was very soft and green!
What do you think of repost? :wavey:
