Bee (of some description)
Not up to David T's standards but thought it was worth a try. They are difficult blighters to photograph as they don't stay still for a second.

D300 150mm 1/25s f11 -0.7EV ISO 400 Tripod

C & C welcome as always

Thanks, Maggie, but I've a long way to go yet. See http://www.photomacrography.netThe knapweed a bit dominant as you state the bee as your main subject. A very nice capture of the bee though. Your next task is to capture one in flight, hand held (wo)manual focus.

Like the lighting on this Maggie, but as David says the knapweed is overpowering, well done though :toast: :toast:

yes unfortunately an image where the main subject has been overpowered by the foreground flower

You've done well off a tripod, a monopod may be quicker and easier to manoevre?

Hate to go against the flow but I feel the foreground Knapweed makes this shot.
Sorry.

Well I like it, but perhaps a squarer crop, with a few strands of the knapweed still showing would keep the best of both worlds?
