Antarctica in Darkness
Hello again...attached are a few photos of night shots from 77 degrees South. Not much else to take here in the winter, so you set your camera on manual focus at infinity, hope your remote cord doesn't freeze up (it does, but hopefully you got the shot before it did), keep hand warmers in your glove liners, have an extra battery and other than that, it's a blast!

An aurora...they hang around for about 30 minutes...can fade and then come back.

Auroras happen all the time, it's just a matter of being in the right place at the right time. This is one overlooking Scott Base one morning.

Discovery Hut...or Scott's Hut lit by the station light...a five minute exposure.

What cool shots, Cynthia! What brought you to the icy continent in the winter?

Wonderful series, Cynthia.

The light glow in #1 looks like something from a comet's tail.

Sounds like a cool "summer vacation". Enjoy wintering over.

Do you get any twilight you can photograph?
