I met Dan at Long Lake yesterday morning for some shooting and finally got to meet him face to face. Welcome to the neighborhood, Dan. It was great shooting with and talking with you! Dan has posted on ESS for many years and has such a great and different eye in his comps. He has relocated here from California, and has already started to show his unique take on our state. Hopefully when he reads this, he will join in on RMNP on a regular basis. He will be a splendid addition to our community here.
We had no color in the sky at dawn and in fact it was a bright haze above Indian Peaks, but the clouds moved up from lower down, and made for some interesting conditions.
Here are a couple from Saturday morning in the order of their appearance. Oh, and did I mention the 2 bull moose that wandered through after sunrise? Well, Dan Walters has nothing to worry about in the way of competition from me. I stink at wildlife shots, and don't have the right equipment to even try much. But, I did post a shot of the two monsters that grazed by for about 30 minutes. Man, were they grand to watch!
Great stuff again Morris, I'm bummed I couldn't make it up there!. Nice surprise too seeing/capturing the Moose!!. You shooting from the Left hand bank right, over the bridge?.
Thanks so much guys!
Don, I don't know what a Shiras Bull is. Could you fill me in? Thanks.
John, you are too kind.
NIck, I was going to tease you about missing this, but with the moose, it seemed too cruel. And yes, we shot from the south side of the lake, maybe halfway down? The wildflowers are about at peak right now all along that side.
TC, can you imagine what Dan Walters would have done with these moose?

Great shots Morris. Love them all. Great moose shots. I've ran into moose the last two times on the West side of RMNP. Amazing how big they are went you get up and close to them.

I've been waiting to see what you got. I love the first one and the one of the moose. It was great spending some time with you and time at long lake.

Great stuff, Morris. Both landscape shots are wonderful, but that moose shot is over the top. How cool!
Morris... you did it again... great collection... love that first one so much!

Morris, love these shots! Comp, colors, etc. all look great to me! Also, nice Moose post! I am hoping to catch a few moose next week...I always seem to see nothing but cows, so very jealous!
Good work on 1 and 2. I think you did a good job of composing and processing the images. Unfortunately the sky and its reflection is a flat white color and just doesn't work for me. In this case the high clouds are hurting and not helping the images. The moose shot is a neat shot. That one will be a crowd pleaser.

I much prefer the composition (and of course, the alpenglow) of #2 over #1, although #1 definitely has it's fine points.
It's almost like I'm seeing you just get better and better as time passes.
