Spent the weekend shooting Porphyry and Yankee Boy. Porphyry was sweet--but Yankee Boy was AMAZING! Best ive seen it from my 3 or 4 summer trips there. Too many shots to post here, so will have to send you to a link: please let me know your favs!
Here's a long view of the falls at Porphyry (John M can tell you about the fun we had at infamous 'pucker point' )
Ok Stan...well, after picking my lower jaw up off the floor...I have NO IDEA how to pick a favorite! These are super fantastic! If I had to pick a few favorites I would say....ready for this??? 4, 6, 7, 8, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 20, 22, 23 and 24....see what I mean? Simply excellent work
The one piece of advice I'd offer can be summed up in one word: buy a level.
Other than that, very nice collection of images, Stan. Some of the flowerfields/foreground-mountains/background shots have a bit of sameness to them, but each taken individually really stands out. Then you've got a bunch of really different ones (waterfall from above, looking down on BK Lake, etc.) that are real mold-breakers. All in all, looks like a fantastic outing!
A great series Stan. Besides the image posted, #s 4, 8, 18 and 23 would be my favorites. My only nitpick for the shot you posted is that I'd like to see the sky pulled back a bit. The pinks/magentas are a little blown.
I think that the first one you posted here with those golden rays of light is a winner. I remember those and wish I had been where you were at the time.
#'s 1, 4, 18 , 22 & 23 are my favorites of the lot. What a productive and fruitful outing you had!
Wish I hadn't listened to Alex and gone to Yankee Boy that next day.
Was it crowded up there?
Amazing - really hard to pick even a few from the set. Liked all of them. Great set of images Stan. Looks like you all had a wonderful time out there.

Wildflower madness and photographer madness too. What a large group of great images. You've got some beauties there. I can't pick favorites unless I spend hours looking and comparing.
Favorite(s)? Yeah right.
Sorry I couldn't give you any better advice that morning but it looks like you did well in spite of that. The shot along the creek (ok, one of my choices) looks like one from that time frame.
Stan,
Last year I made my first(hopefully not only) trip to the San Juans and I did get into Yankee Boy. I certainly recognize some of that real estate but you put a great perspective and light on the whole deal. One of my CSNP buds Bill Dark just came back from there with some good stuff also. Keep posting so us flatlanders can live the good life from a distance.
Thanks for the input, folks!
Chuck: thanks for pointing out the ATV--i didnt even see it! I think ill leave it...
Todd: but then id be level-headed, no??
John: no, wasnt crowded at 6 am--but it was getting real crowded with incoming jeeps when i made a hasty retreat around 10 or so...
Bob: I am a flatlander--Pueblo is one of the flattest most unphotogenic spots in the country.

You might want to clone out my atv on #16.
