Common Buzzard
Taken this afternoon close to my home. Went out hoping to get some images of Brown Hare - however the cold easterly seemed to be keeping their heads down. Not all doom and gloom this chap performed quite well for me!

Canon EOS 20D + 500 f4 + x1.4 and processed in PS CS (Slight crop)

Well taken :toast:

A cracking shot David. :toast:
There seems to be plenty of buzzards around at the moment.I was watching four of them this afternoon gliding around together, desperatly trying to avoid the mobbing crows
 .

I'd kill for this.
Buzzards have eluded me so far, and the shots I have managed to get, the Buzzard is squeezed into about 30 pixels

Very nice shot indeed. Graeme

Hi Tim and Graeme

Forgot to add I took this shot from the car window - the bird was suprisingly steady!

Hi David
Very good shot - in my experience they usually go as soon as they see a camera. The BG is a bit busy but the sharpness of the bird more than compensates.

Superb shot, he seems to have a wary look in his eye! I think it would take a closer crop to maybe exclude the bg branch on the lhs? Vanishingly few here in East Anglia compared to the west - always enjoy chasing them in Wales.

Hi David
Nice portrait with good light and feather detail,Switzerland is very good for buzzard although havent managed to nail one yet but they seem to be about every half mile on the roads although for the last couple of weeks i have noticed that i havent seen so many but the kites are starting to show more so dont know if the kites push them out,The black kites migrate here and have started to show in numbers around the lake,Yesterday i saw 20 in one field and lasy july you could see more tham 100 in a day by driving around, :toast:

Hi David

Our growing multitude of local buzzards are behaving very similarly at present, when not indulging in courtship flights. Thy let you get quite close but the moment you lift a camera to your eye they flop off. Really nice shot, well done.

Malcolm.

Nice light and terrific detail, sadly the environment is a little busy but nice image nonetheless.
