Along Shrine Pass Road
Found some of these along Shrine Pass Road (see my post in the wildflower reports thread about the conditions there).

A quartet of Columbines...

Nice mariposa lily! I just recently learned how to soften people's wrinkles with a Gaussian blur on a duplicate layer and a layer mask - I wonder if that could be used to soften the leaves in the LR of this image? (I know, I have a lot to learn about Photoshop.)

The columbines look overly sharpened and a little contrasty on my screen. I like the composition, though.

Thanks Erik...I edited these on my uncalibrated laptop at the hotel, so probably not the best they could be. I'll re-work them when I get home.
I've got a lot to learn, too!

My first impression is that the columbines shot looks washed out and could use some color. But both are really nice shots!

Thanks Todd! I'll re-work them when I get home...hopefully they'll look better. (I'd rather blame it on my laptop than my ineptness!)

Beautiful flowers, Bob.
I think that darkening the right edge of the columbine image as appears on the left edge would really help make these pop some more.

The comps are very good and a little touch up on the processing and you will have some excellent portraits.

Thanks John for the suggestion, I'll give that a try.
Thanks Morris!
