I've spent much of today prepping the house for the painters that are coming tomorrow, so I haven't had as much time to work on images. Here's a slightly abbreviated Round 2.
#1: A vertical version of Gothic Mountain reflection

#2: Some clouds pushing up against Schuylkill Mountain in the afternoon
Posted by Todd Caudle on July 27, 2010 at 11:58 PM
#3: I really didn't think I'd get anything at sunset on Wednesday, seeing as how it started pouring not long before. Luckily there was a break to the NW, although it never broke enough to cast any light on anything other than sky. This is Purple Mountain across from Paradise Divide.

#4: And another, a little bit later.

#5: The next morning the clouds over the Beckwith Mountains put on a little show.

#6: After that last shot, I decided to head over to Ohio Pass to see if there was any fog down in that valley. The clouds covered the Castles and all those peaks, but I headed back t catch the fog that was swirling around Kebler Pass, with the sun intermitently poking through some higher clouds.

#7: Here's looking over towards Mount Owen and friends.

#8: Ruby Peak barely visible.
Posted by Todd Caudle on July 28, 2010 at 12:05 AM
#9: And the Dyke catching a little sunlight through the fog.
Posted by Todd Caudle on July 28, 2010 at 12:06 AM
#10: Some flowers and clouds near Paradise Divide later on.
Posted by Todd Caudle on July 28, 2010 at 12:06 AM
#11: A columbine and lupine intimate nearby.
Posted by Todd Caudle on July 28, 2010 at 12:07 AM
#12: Later that evening, storm clouds over Maroon Peak.
Posted by Todd Caudle on July 28, 2010 at 12:09 AM
#13: And finally (for now), the next morning. The only fog this morning was that little tuft you can see off in the distance on the far left of the skyline, but after a few days of rain and fog, the warming sun was a welcome change. Wow, did I really just say that out loud???
That's probably all I'll post from this trip. There will be other trips to share.
Great stuff Todd. #5 and #11 are my favorites.. really great comps. On #11, you might see if you can clone out or crop a bit tighter to get rid of that small rock on the top left. I find it slightly distracting, but not too bad.
BTW - I love the little hint of a hill in the LLC of #12.

Koveh, it's funny you say that about #11. I had originally darkened and desaturated the red there to de-emphasize it, but for some unknown reason I switched it back to normal. Thanks for the suggestion.
Man, what do you eat?? It'a almost like you just fart clouds Todd??!! #5 is obvious, but I really like #9 out of the bunch. I would play with a pano crop on #6 and see if you can pull a more abstract version out of that one? In any case, looks like an epic week...
Well, round one was better--but it would be tough to top that set! These are all nice too--4 & 13 are my favs. #10 would be awesome if you drop the exposure a bit.

13 is mine. The perfectly placid water is so serene, so calm, and its colors are so rich.
3, 6, 9, 12, 13
A remarkable week - it'll be cool to see what you follow it up with!

Todd, Love the lighting in #13 which makes it my favorite of this bunch. I also really like #12. I'm not familiar with that angle of Maroon Peak. What scary road was that taken from?
Looks like a place I'd like to explore next time I come out to Colorado.

Just who do you think you are....JF???? Sheesh, all these photos and I'm supposed to pick the best. I like number 6 in this series...nice work!!

Wow. A classic Cloudman collection - really nice.

10, 11, and 12 ! Also like the different view of Maroon Peak.
You definitely got some good shots in this set. #3 has a really nice color contrast and the ratio has strong harmony. #6, 12 and 13 share a very distinctive TC look.
You are clearly the quintessential Colorado photographer.
Once again, this series highlights the best of the state in the best possible conditions and quality.
So, how come folks like John Fielder and Grant Collier get all of the press exposure ?!?
What? Do you just have clouds like this on call? What a productive trip! So many excellent comps, so much great color, conditions, and sunsets, and wildflowers..........shoot! You get the idea.
