"Now this is Colorado!"
There is a sign on US 24 that has the above phrase as you cross into Chaffee County and catch the first glimpse of the Collegiate Peaks. I thought this would be an appropriate title for this healthy group of Columbines captured at Mohawk Lake last Monday. I often see columbines in groups but rarely in bunches like this.

I finally got around to processing some of my shots from last week in Colorado. Some of the places visited were, Mosquito Pass, Breakneck Pass, Boreas Pass Road, Mohawk Lake, Cottonwood Pass, McCullough Gulch, Crested Butte, American Basin, Silverton, and Black Bear Pass Road.

Here is a link to a gallery on my website with a few photos from the trip. Thanks for looking!

Sweet! Nothing beets a bouquet of pristine columbine. Doubt I'll see many of those when I head out that way tomorrow.

Great color Tom.

Hey Tom, what an impressive collection of shots from your trip to CO. Each is beautiful in it's own rights. Congrats on a productive trip and thanks for sharing these beauties! :toast:

Really nice work, Tom. There were lots of different shades of columbines - some almost pure white. Those you found have a nice saturated sky blue color, and what a nice bouquet, all facing the camera and smiling! :toast:

Great collection, Tom. I love the Pikes Peak shot with the layers and the cool colors. That mountain really stands out, doesn't it? I also like #241, the clouds in Americam Basin.

It looks like a lot of us have been enjoying the cool mountains this summer. Your pics just make me want to go back.

Tom what a beautiful bunch of columbines. Really a nice catch. The images on you website are really wonderful also. Predawn Pikes Peak is really a great image of the layers of mountains. I also really love the light and foreground in 240 as well. Nice work on of them though.
