I had a excellent weekend hanging out in Sonora Pass with great friends Lon and Preston. We even attempted to make a few images between rounds of verbal abuse.
I used my 80 year old Verito soft focus portrait lens on this one, with all natural light.
That old lens sure has it's own set of defining characteristics going for it, Harley. On the flip side of the vintage table, is the very fine classic Velvia purple in the lupine. The key of the highlight on the flowering bud area is perfect too. A very nice take on this late season wildflower outing to Sonora Pass.
Excellent Harley! The subdued highlights and overall darkness of the background really make the lupine stand out. And actually this capture is quite different - and in a most successful way.
I hope my Monkey Flower image used with your lens comes out half as good! Probably no good, but I'll settle for half.
Harley, what a beautiful and mysterious image. I like the darkness around the flower. The image works well. Best Regards.

At first I thought it was a little dark, but the longer I look at it the more I like it. The lupine stands out nicely against the dark background. Nice colors, too.
