Evening mist on the Black Mountain
First post for some time - been busy with various projects and away for 4 of the last 8 weeks. Just started processing of several hundred images taken during 2 weeks in Wales in late May. Here's one from the Brecon Beacons. It looks much better printed at A3+ but
c&c most welcome.

Taken with Canon 7D and Canon EF 70-200 f/2.8 L IS lens at 78mm, f/11, ISO100, 1/20th sec

The small size never does justice to such scenes but I can well imagine how impressive a large print would look.
Good one.

Thanks for all the kind comments folks - much appreciated

“…is that the Pen y Fan and Sugar Loaf mountains in the BG Jeff??...”

In answer to your question Craig – no, the two peaks you mention are further east in the Black Mountains whereas this shot was taken in the range known (confusingly!) as the Black Mountain (or Mynydd Du).
The main peak in the picture is Picws Du (Black Peak), better known perhaps as Banneau Sir Gaer, and which overlooks the mountain lake Llyn y Fan Fach. It’s a lovely walk to (and view from) the top if you’re ever in that area.

By the way, I see you’re exhibiting at Birdfair this year. I’ll be there on the Friday and will look you up if I may

Nice atmosphere to this image Jeff; the blue tone contrasts nicely with the mist.
If you have anymore of the image to play with I'd prefer to see the inclusion of more of the foreground, just to give the image a touch more balance. Nice image.

Cheers,
Chris

I'm sure this will look so much better in a larger format, this size just doesn't do it justice Jeff.. I'm liking it here a lot but would like to see it hanging on a wall somewhere as well... Nice work..
