I have been back to this site as I am trying to capture Kingfishers as the site I had earlier in the year never worked out due to fishermen and kids disturbing the birds.Over the last week I have visited this beautiful place and the light and mist have been really kind to me.This photo is of a lone Grey Heron I captured standing still, watching and waiting for the slightest movement beneath him.Again the light came throught the tree line which you can just make out in the BG,lighting up the low lying mist, turning it this wonderful colour.I am loving mist at the moment.Different from my previous image from this place, and thanks for the kind comments on that one

Judging from the number of replies to your previous image I'm probably the odd-one-out but for me this is a stronger shot. While you swan shot was of a high standard, this image appeals more because it is naturalistic and less 'chocolate box' - just my opinion, of course, others will no doubt disagree.
Here, I love the contrast between the muted upper area and the sparkling, colour-washed water - the 'dark on light' of the heron finish the job off nicely.
Good stuff.
Cheers,
Chris

Another beauty Craig.
Think I would prefer a touch more head turn towards the camera. The atmosphere is really something else!

I would crop off the very top as my eye is drawn straight to it, it would give the heron/mist more impact imho.
